Match Report:

After winning the toss, NATS elected to bat first and this looked like a good decision early on, with Spence and Newhook making light work of the Poulton bowling attack of Shammy & Mark Wright. Newhook making 14 before having a brain storm trying to take a run to a short cover. The ever alert Graham Fish seizing the opportunity to run him out. This however did not stop the flow of runs with Rogers taking over. 48 runs came from the first 10 overs. At this point a bowling change from both ends was needed and Colt, Matty Coleman and the evergreen Steve Nash were brought into the attack. The runs then started to dry up and Nash eventually took both of these wickets. Lockey and Bartlett put up some further resistance, but 149 never seemed to be enough on a good batting track.

In reply Poulton struggled early on, Neil Moss hitting 4 fours in his 25, but the early bowling attack of Newhook and Bartlett kept runs to a minimum. Once these bowlers were taken off, Nigel Voadan and Mark Greener never looked in any difficulty. Voadan looking particularly aggressive early on hitting 7 fours in his 53 not out. Greener after a slow start found his timing and launched 3 sixes, the first of which cleared not only the boundary, but also the high fence and the ball was lost in a local garden. The replacement ball received more of the same treatment and Greener also ended up with 5 fours in his not out 54. NATS target of 149 was reached with 13 overs to spare.
