Match Report:

After winning the toss Poulton elected to field. This looked a good decision with runs difficult to come by in the early overs. Harris and Shami bowling a tight line restricting the Rodmarton batsmen. Scott Harris taking three early wickets in a lively spell. A sharp catch behind the stumps by Mike Reardon dismissed Beese and another by Graham Fish to dismiss Bond raised Poulton hopes. But Scott and Hilton got themselves set for Rodmarton and the runs started to flow. Hilton hitting over the top to find the gaps in the field. Hilton eventually succumbed to the guile of Sean McIntyre and skied one to Graham Vinnicombe. Paul Stonham then closed out the Rodmarton innings by taking 2 wickets and by inducing a run out. Mike Reardon taking another good catch behind the stumps to dismiss Scott after he had made 59 and Stonham combined with Shami to dismiss Colman.

In reply Poulton’s batting looked fragile and only Graham Vinnicombe and Shami made it into double figures. Shami hitting 4 fours in his 20. Tight bowling by Gregory taking 4 wickets for 28 runs in his 10 overs and by Bond taking 3 wickets for 24 runs in his 10 overs.
