Report:
Poulton recorded their fourth consecutive league victory by the
margin of 4 wickets on Saturday.
Electing to field on the damp, sloping Ryeworth wicket, Mark Wright struck in the first
over thanks to a flying catch behind the stumps by Sollis.
Young soon claimed another wicket before Griffiths and Price put up some stern resistence,
the latter finally being removed by Willard's one-handed return catch, one of three in the
innings.
Matt Coleman was always threatening with his off-spin on the turning pitch and his
patience paid dividends with two wickets.
Willard added to his tally thanks to the safe hands of Greener and the total of 151 did
not look enough.
Poulton made a solid start to the run chase with Higginson despatching the ball to all
corners of the field.
Young and Shaw added quick runs but the innings faltered to 80-4 before the trusty pair of
Sollis and Greener put on a fine partnership of 71 to level the scores.
Greener was out caught attempting to win the game in spectacular fashion and Page scored a
GD.
The game was eventually won with 4 byes and Sollis was left celebrating victory with a
fine unbeaten 38 which included one six and six thumping fours.
